Virginia Beach, Hopewell and Petersburg to be exact. While staying at Fort Lee we ventured out to see these wonderful places. Virginia Beach was the farthest of the three to get to, but we enjoyed a day at the beach even with the drive, feet burning sand, and scorching heat. We ate at a local burger place picked up some "beach things" and enjoyed the Atlantic Ocean, and walking around. Petersburg is right next door to Fort Lee and we adventured to the Battlefield a few times. Hopewell was a quick, last minute, end of a day excursion. We stumbled upon the Waterfront Park after a museum we wanted to visit was closed.
