Hello there!  I'm Katie, the spouse of a soldier, and mom to one daughter and a cat. I grew up in a rural town in the beautiful High Sierras of Northern California near Yosemite National Park. Since then, I have moved around quite a bit, currently residing in Oklahoma. One of the best parts of being a military spouse is getting to travel all over the United States, and sometimes even to other countries. I Love vacationing! Even "mini" vacations AKA day or weekend trips, yes I count those short getaways as vacations too! Some might just say I love to travel...but those who know me say I dance to my own beat...or something like that.

Anyway, I take photos, I'm not anything close to a photographer, I forget to take photos a lot...I should work on that! Nor do I know all the things about my camera, or anything about Photoshop for that matter, I simply know the very, very basics of photography. I look things up I'd like to improve upon in the moment I need them...sometimes the info sticks sometimes I need to go back and look it up again...I just enjoy taking photos, mostly of where we go, nature and wildlife. We get beautiful birds and squirrels in our current backyard, and I may or may not have a few (dozen) mosquito bites from hanging around outside to capture pictures of said wildlife. 

 

Back to why I love vacationing...I really enjoy spending time and making extra special memories with my family, while at the same time visiting somewhere outside of our everyday norm. My husband can be gone an awful lot, so when we get family time we take full advantage of it and I Love it!  Even traveling from one destination to another as long as time is on my side, I will find a mini vacation out of it! Going to places for the first time is exciting and new, but revisiting places we have already been is sometimes even better. There are always different things to experience or things we may have missed before even if we have been somewhere a time or two (or seven). Oftentimes the more we know about where we go the more time we have to fully enjoy vacation. Thanks so much for stopping by this page to learn a little about me!
